Thai Osmanthus Scented Oolong Tea
Osmanthus Oolong is a gentle, uplifting tea with captivating floral notes and delicate stone fruit sweetness. Beginning each autumn, fragrant osmanthus flowers bloom across Northern Thailand. During this season, the producer sets aside some of their finest oolong leaves to be naturally scented with freshly harvested blossoms.
If you're new to osmanthus, you're in for a treat. Commonly featured in Cantonese desserts such as osmanthus jelly, its fragrance brings to mind peach, apricot, and honey. It's a flavor we grew up enjoying in Hong Kong dessert shops and restaurants. Brew it hot and pour it over ice to accentuate its floral character and refreshing sweetness.
Crafted in Mae Salong tea village, this tea is made by naturally scenting the esteemed #17 Ruanzhi cultivar with locally grown osmanthus blossoms. The result is an elegant and aromatic tea that offers a wonderful alternative to classic jasmine tea.

Brew Instructions
We recommend brewing this tea in a gaiwan, though it can also be enjoyed Western style or cold-brewed. For all brewing methods, be sure to include some of the osmanthus blossoms (the small yellow flowers), as they tend to settle at the bottom of the bag.
Gongfu Brew (Gaiwan): 5g | 150ml | 95°C | 30 sec | +5 sec for additional brews | Can steep ~ 5 times
Western Brew (Mug / Teapot): 5g (1 tsp) | 350ml | 95°C | 2 min | + 1 min for additional brews | Can steep ~ 3 times
Cold Brew (Bottle / Pitcher): 12g | 750ml | Quickly rinse with hot water before cold brewing to help open the ball-rolled leaves | Refrigerate for 8 hours | Strain & enjoy chilled
Farm Story
Grown in the mountainous region of Mae Salong, 101 Tea is one of Thailand's most respected tea producers. Located just below the village, its pristine factory and welcoming tasting room have hosted tea enthusiasts from around the world for decades. Mae Salong itself is a unique meeting point of Taiwanese, Yunnanese, and Thai tea traditions, reflecting the cultural influences behind this beautifully crafted and naturally scented oolong.
We visited a second time in December, when the osmanthus trees were still in full bloom. Lining the terraced tea fields, they filled the air with a sweet yet delicate fragrance. One of the highlights of our trip was walking along a path lined with blooming osmanthus trees, their sweet floral aroma drifting through the tea fields.
