When we visited Chiangmai years ago, we spent the day feeding, walking and bathing a gentle giant named Mikeow and her baby elephant in the river; it was magical.

The elephant, known as Chang in Thai, is the national animal and symbol of Thailand. Living mostly in the north, their strength, durability and longevity have long been celebrated by Thai people. Their historic status as a sacred creature is reflected in its representation in Buddhist tradition and the Thai monarchy.

Your Tea Moments

My first and most beloved tea pet

My little one has become my most loyal tea companion. This tea pet is not only beyond adorable, but also extremely high quality: other elephant tea pets out there (and there are ones that look similar...but fall short) have no where near as much detail and craftmanship as this. I absolutely love it and have even bought another as a gift for a friend.

When Mona first shared a glimpse of this little tea pet, I was really hoping she would bring them to the shop, and she did!

It’s a really adorable baby elephant, well-made from clay, and also came in a really nice box in case you want to gift to someone :) I look forward to many tea sessions with Eli!
