This Lunar New Year, we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse — a symbol of speed, vitality, passion, and perseverance.

I’m excited to share a limited-edition Tea Mail created especially for the new year. This time, I’ve chosen to spotlight Yan Cha, featuring a specially sourced Horse Head Rock Rou Gui alongside a beautiful Shui Xian, both from the stunning cliffs of Wuyishan — plus an adorable miniature horse tea pet to complete the set.

Bold, mineral-rich, and warmly roasted with an energizing character, these rock oolongs are the perfect way to bid winter farewell and welcome spring with strength and intention.

Brew Instructions

We recommend using a Gaiwan or small clay teapot to brew these teas. 

Gongfu Brew: 5-8g | 150ml | 98°C | 15 sec | +5 secs for additional brews | Can steep ~ 10 times

Farm Story:

Our Horse Head Rock Rou Gui was crafted by Master Lin, whom I met in 2019 during my visit to Wuyishan. A UNESCO World Heritage site known for its dramatic cliff landscapes, Wuyishan is home to some of China’s finest teas. In particular, Horse Head Rock (Ma Tou Yan) is one of the most prized micro-regions inside Wuyishan National Park.

Master Lin’s family has been proudly producing horse head rock tea for three generations. We have stayed in touch since we first met, and I am delighted to finally share his tea with you.
